Description

More first aquariums fail in the first month than at any other time, almost always for the same reason: fish were added before the filter had a bacteria colony. This service removes that risk. We set the tank up correctly and monitor it through a complete nitrogen cycle before a single fish is introduced.

Visit one – setup

• Position and level the tank and stand, and check floor loading
• Substrate placement and basic hardscape arrangement
• Filter, heater and lighting installed, wired and flow-tuned
• Fill and dechlorinate; dose live nitrifying bacteria
• Lighting timer set to a sensible starting photoperiod
• Walkthrough of feeding, testing and water change routine

Cycling period – two to three weeks

• We test your water remotely from photographs of the test results you send, or you drop a sample at the store
• Guidance over WhatsApp throughout, with a response the same day
• We tell you when ammonia and nitrite have both hit zero, and not before

Visit two – stocking

• Final water test on site
• First livestock introduced and acclimatised properly
• Stocking plan for the following six weeks, so the bio-load grows at a rate the filter can keep up with
