Description

CO2 is the single biggest step up in a planted tank. It is the difference between plants that survive and plants that grow fast enough to out-compete algae, and it is what makes dense carpets and red stems achievable rather than aspirational.

This is a complete pressurised system, not a DIY yeast kit: a refillable 2 kg cylinder, a dual-gauge regulator so you can see both cylinder pressure and working pressure, and a solenoid so CO2 shuts off with your lights.

In the box

• 2 kg refillable steel CO2 cylinder (supplied empty – see below)
• Dual-gauge regulator with needle valve and 230 V solenoid
• Ceramic disc diffuser and bubble counter with check valve
• 3 m CO2-rated tubing and drop checker with 4 dKH reference solution

Important

• Cylinders ship empty. Indian regulations prohibit shipping filled gas cylinders by courier. Any industrial gas supplier or fire extinguisher refiller will fill it – typically Rs. 300 to 600.
• Run the solenoid on the same timer as your lights, starting one hour before lights on.
• Use the drop checker. Aim for green. Blue means too little CO2, yellow means dangerously high and will suffocate fish.
• Start at one bubble per second for a 60 litre tank and increase slowly over a week while watching the fish.
