Description

Bucephalandra are Borneo endemics that behave like anubias – epiphytes attached to hardscape, feeding from the water column, growing slowly. Brownie Ghost has narrow, wavy, dark leaves scattered with reflective spots that flash under a spotlight.

Used in small quantities tucked into crevices in wood or rock, it adds the sort of fine detail that separates a considered scape from a collection of plants.

Planting notes

• Attach the rhizome to wood or rock with cyanoacrylate glue or thread. Do not bury it.
• Expect some melt after import as it converts to your water. New growth follows.
• Stable, clean water matters more than high light. Buce is prone to algae on old leaves.
• Gentle flow across the plant helps keep the leaves clean.
