Description
Christmas moss grows in flat, triangular fronds that overlap like the branches of a fir tree, giving a much more structured look than the shaggy sprawl of java moss. It is the moss to use when the moss itself is meant to be a feature.
Supplied as a sterile tissue culture cup, so no snails or planaria come with it – which matters, because moss is where pests hide best.
Planting notes
- Rinse the gel away, then press a thin layer onto wood or stone and secure with thread or glue.
- It prefers cooler water. Above 28 °C growth slows and the fronds lose their shape.
- Good flow is essential – stagnant spots turn to brown mush.
