Description

The weekly water change is the single most useful thing you do for your tank, and a gravel vacuum makes it a five-minute job. The bell fluidises the top layer of substrate so waste lifts out while the gravel drops back, and the water you remove is the water you were changing anyway.

The priming bulb means no siphoning by mouth, and the inline tap lets you stop the flow without lifting the bell out.

Usage notes

• Change 20 – 30% weekly for a typical community tank.
• Work over about a third of the substrate each week rather than the whole bed at once, so the bacteria colony is not disrupted.
• On sand, hold the bell 2 cm above the surface. Pushing it in will suck the sand out.
• Always dechlorinate replacement water before it goes back in.
