Description

L134 is one of the few plecos genuinely suited to a normal-sized planted aquarium. It tops out under 10 cm, so it will not outgrow the tank or flatten the scape the way a common pleco does. The yellow-on-black banding is bold enough to make it a display fish rather than just a cleaner.

These are captive bred in Germany rather than wild caught, so they arrive already accustomed to prepared foods and aquarium conditions.

Keeping notes

• L134 needs high oxygen and flow. Pair a canister filter with a small wavemaker or air-driven sponge.
• Provide caves – a slate or ceramic cave per fish. Without a retreat they remain stressed and hidden.
• They are omnivores leaning carnivorous. Feed sinking wafers plus frozen bloodworm; do not rely on algae alone.
• Include a piece of driftwood. Plecos rasp on wood and it aids digestion.
