Description
Fish cannot synthesise carotenoids; they have to eat them. Astaxanthin and spirulina supply the pigments that reds, oranges and yellows are built from, and a fish on a pigment-poor diet fades regardless of how good the water is.
Used as part of a rotation – not as the only food – this produces a clearly visible improvement in three to four weeks on guppies, goldfish, discus, flowerhorns and most cichlids.
Feeding guide
- Feed as one of two daily meals, alternating with a staple food.
- Colour change is gradual. Judge it at four weeks, not four days.
- The high spirulina content also suits herbivorous fish as a regular diet.
Composition
- Crude protein 42%, crude fat 7%, spirulina 12%
- Spirulina platensis, krill meal, fish meal, astaxanthin, marigold extract, vitamin premix
